Matthew Matt James, born 5 December 1991 from North Carolina. His parents are Manny James, and Patty James. His mother was caucasian as was his father Nigerian. When he graduated from Sanderson High School, in 2010, James enrolled in Wake Forest University and obtained the Bachelor's degree in Economics. James' fame kick-started when he made his on-screen first appearance as a reality TV star in The Bachelorette. In 2020, he was picked to become the bachelor for season 25 of The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The show premiered 2021. James' fit was perfect for the part because his appealing, well-rounded, and an impressive height. Rachael Krukconnell was James's love interest towards the close of the season. In 2021 he partnered with the famous dancer Arnold to compete in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James along with Arnold placed 12th on the show.
